Anterior Chamber PMMA Intraocular Lens or Angle Supported Phakic Intraocular Lenses are placed in the anterior chamber of the eye, hence the name. This type of IOL falls in the category of Phakic, an implantation of a synthetic lens in the presence of the natural crystalline lens. When capsular or zonular support is absent, an ACIOL can be placed if there is normal iris anatomy and a deep anterior chamber.
